Happy Sunday!

Do you ever have time to quiet yourself and spend time in prayer? With all the busy schedules with school, work and at home activities, so many people struggle to find time for silent prayer. The early morning before the kids wake up may be your only moment to pray before all the preparations of the day begin. Others may have a Holy Hour before the Blessed Lord in the middle of the night or during the day. Regardless of your prayer life, any moment in prayer offers us so much more than what the world has to offer us.

One of the best routines is before and after the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. When we prepare ourselves with prayer as soon as we enter our car, that is when our prayer time begins because of Who we will be receiving. We are entering the house of the Lord to give worship, adoration, praise and thanksgiving. We offer our very best such as our clothing, our posture, our reverence and our quiet time to the Eucharistic King. Naturally, there would be a time of preparation such as prayer from the heart. One of my favorite prayers after receiving Holy Communion is the Anima Christi.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Within Thy wounds hide me. Separated from Thee let me never be. From the malignant enemy, defend me. At the hour of death, call me. And close to Thee bid me. That with Thy saints I may be Praising Thee, forever and ever. Amen.

My hope is that we can contemplate this prayer with our Blessed Lord in the Holy Sacrament of the Altar, Jesus Christ!

DE NUESTRO PASTOR PADRE CRUZ

Feliz día del Señor!

¿Alguna vez tienes tiempo para tranquilizarte y dedicar tiempo a la oración? Con todas las agendas ocupadas con la escuela, el trabajo y las actividades en el hogar, muchas personas luchan por encontrar tiempo para la oración silenciosa. Temprano en la mañana, antes de que los niños se despierten, puede ser su único momento para orar antes de que comiencen todos los preparativos del día. Otros pueden tener una Hora Santa ante el Bendito Señor en medio de la noche o durante el día. Independientemente de tu vida de oración, cualquier momento de oración nos ofrece mucho más de lo que el mundo tiene para ofrecernos.

Una de las mejores rutinas es antes y después del Santo Sacrificio de la Misa. Cuando nos preparamos con la oración apenas subimos a nuestro auto, es cuando comienza nuestro tiempo de oración por A quién estaremos recibiendo. Estamos entrando a la casa del Señor para dar culto, adoración, alabanza y acción de gracias. Ofrecemos lo mejor de nosotros, como nuestra vestimenta, nuestra postura, nuestra reverencia y nuestro tiempo de tranquilidad, al Rey Eucarístico. Naturalmente, habría un tiempo de preparación como la oración del corazón. Una de mis oraciones favoritas después de recibir la Sagrada Comunión es el Anima Christi.

Alma de Cristo, santifícame. Cuerpo de Cristo, sálvame. Sangre de Cristo, embriágame. Agua del costado de Cristo, lávame. Pasión de Cristo, confórtame. ˇOh, buen Jesús!, óyeme. Dentro de tus llagas, escóndeme. No permitas que me aparte de Ti. Del maligno enemigo, defiéndeme. En la hora de mi muerte, llámame. Y mándame ir a Ti. Para que con tus santos te alabe. Por los siglos de los siglos. Amén.

¡Mi esperanza es que podamos contemplar esta oración con nuestro Santísimo Señor en el Santísimo Sacramento del Altar, Jesucristo!
