EDGE - Middle School Youth Ministry
EDGE is our Catholic Middle School Youth Ministry Program where junior high students can build an authentic, vibrant community, get real answers to life's big questions, and encounter Jesus in a personal way.
When & Where We Meet
Day: Fridays
Time: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Location: Weidner Hall
Who: All 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students are welcome!
Calendar Update: We will soon be uploading a full calendar right here on this page with our exact meeting dates for the upcoming year, so there is zero guessing!
Stay in the Loop (Registration & Flocknote)
While registration isn't required to attend an EDGE night, registering your middle schooler ensures you receive instant notifications about schedule updates, special events, and parental resources.
We use Flocknote to send out all of our youth ministry communications. To ensure you never miss an announcement:
- Check Your Spam Folder: Sometimes our Flocknote emails can accidentally get redirected to spam or promo folders, especially when you first provide your email.
- Mark as Not Spam: When you receive your first Flocknote, please mark it as "Not Spam" or move it directly into your primary inbox so you never miss an important announcement.
What an Afternoon at EDGE Looks Like
Every Friday afternoon is packed with high energy, intentional fellowship, and real faith connection. We break down our sessions into a few key movements:
- The Social: High-energy games, icebreakers, and a shared snack or dinner to unwind after the school week.
- The Truth: An engaging, age-appropriate talk breaking down the beauty of our Catholic faith and how it applies to daily middle school life.
- The Break: Small group discussions where teens can ask hard questions, share their perspectives, and build lasting friendships in a safe, supportive environment.
- The Encounter: A dedicated time of prayer, worship, or reflection to help them quiet the noise and connect deeply with God.
Middle School Sacrament Prep
Is your 6th, 7th, or 8th grader ready to receive First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, or Confirmation? We want to walk alongside your family!
Please contact Allyson directly to schedule a personal appointment so we can discuss your student's sacramental journey and register them for our preparation classes.
Join the Core Team: Volunteers Needed!
It takes a village to run a thriving youth ministry! If you have a heart for middle school students, love your Catholic faith, and want to support our young people, we would love to have you on our Core Team.
Whether you want to help facilitate small groups, assist with games, or help out behind the scenes, please contact Allyson to schedule a meeting and chat about how you can get involved.
Our Youth Ministry Vision
The first paragraph of the Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us that "God calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength."
Our mission at St. Joan of Arc is to walk alongside your teens as they journey through these three transformative steps:
- Seek Him: Creating spaces of dynamic prayer and community where they want to explore their faith.
- Know Him: Helping them transition from knowing about God to knowing Him intimately as a personal savior who loves them.
- Love Him: Empowering them to live as intentional disciples who confidently share the Gospel message with the world.
