From Our Parochial Vicor

Hello,

Last night President Biden gave a speech that highlights how divided we are as a nation. I am not taking sides on any of that; I am just remarking how very divided we seem to be. If this were a family, it would be hard to sustain meaningful relationships with this level of division. Is there anything we can do about it? Is there a way to build unity?

Well, this is exactly what the Church is all about. When we come together to worship we are a living example of unity in Christ. Saint Paul explained how Jews and Greeks were drawn together in Christ so that now there is one body. The Church pulled these different people together and made them one. This means that when we live out our faith we are building unity; we are doing the very thing that we need so badly now. The answer, then, is that we need to keep on doing what we are doing at Church and maybe do it even better – just come together at Mass and be united in Christ.

The truth is that not only will this be good for our country, but also it will be good for us and for our families. We all need help getting along together. We need to grow in virtue and love and this means we need to be sustained by God’s grace. This means we need the sacraments. May the example of the unity shared by the Church be an inspiration to us and to our nation.

God bless…

DEL VICARIO PARROQUIAL

Hola,
