Happy Lent!

As we journey deeper into Lent, the Gospel of John 11:1-45 on the raising of Lazarus, invites us to contemplate Jesus' power over death and our own need for spiritual awakening. Just as Lazarus is raised from the tomb after four days, bound yet alive at Christ's command, so too can a parish Lenten mission call us forth from the "tombs" of sin, indifference, and spiritual slumber.

I warmly invite you to attend our upcoming parish mission, where preaching centered on the Eucharist will nourish your souls and renew your faith. We welcome Father Declan Gibson this week to lead us on this pilgrimage journey of life.

Our mission will emphasize the Eucharist, the "source and summit of the whole Christian life," where Christ's Real Presence deserves worship due to God alone. This sacred preaching of the parish mission stirs the Holy Spirit within us, inviting surrender to this divine Person who emerges from Scripture, igniting desire for Communion and witness.

Why attend a parish mission? Attending will bear abundant fruit. Spiritual renewal happens and if you or someone you know are in need of renewal from spiritual death, this is the mission for you! Like Lazarus unbound (Jn 11:44), missions free us from sin's grave, fostering repentance and piety. This particular mission deepens Eucharistic devotion to ensure worthy reception, strengthening family life and social duties. Moved by the Holy Spirit, we become stronger witnesses to the truth of Jesus Christ by going to the source Himself.

Please mark your calendars! Mission evenings begin at 6:30 PM, March 22nd & 23rd, with Confessions available. Bring your family and friends. No one is beyond Christ's call, "Lazarus, come out!" (Jn 11:43). Let this be your moment of resurrection.

5° Domingo De Cuaresma

¡Feliz Cuaresma!

A medida que avanzamos en la Cuaresma, el Evangelio de Juan 11, 1-45, sobre la resurrección de Lázaro, nos invita a contemplar el poder de Jesús sobre la muerte y nuestra propia necesidad de un despertar espiritual. Al igual que Lázaro resucita de la tumba tras cuatro días, atado pero vivo por mandato de Cristo, también una misión parroquial de Cuaresma puede sacarnos de las “tumbas” del pecado, la indiferencia y el letargo espiritual. Les invito cordialmente a asistir a nuestra próxima misión parroquial en inglés, donde la predicación centrada en la Eucaristía alimentará sus almas y renovará su fe. Damos la bienvenida esta semana al padre Declan Gibson para que nos guíe en este camino de peregrinación de la vida. Inviten a sus hijos y anímenlos a que les ayuden a comprender lo que se predica. Les ayudará a aprender, avivará sus almas y, por una vez, dejarán que sus hijos les enseñen sobre la fe. Será un reto, pero muy fructífero.

Nuestra misión hará hincapié en la Eucaristía, “fuente y culmen de toda la vida cristiana”, donde la Presencia Real de Cristo merece la adoración que solo se debe a Dios. Esta sagrada predicación de las misiones parroquiales despierta en nosotros al Espíritu Santo, invitándonos a entregarnos a esta Persona divina que surge de las Escrituras, y avivando en nosotros el deseo de la comunión y el testimonio.

¿Por qué asistir a una misión parroquial? La asistencia dará frutos abundantes. Se produce una renovación espiritual y, si tú o alguien cercano a ti necesita renacer de la muerte espiritual, ¡esta es la misión ideal para vosotros! Al igual que Lázaro desatado (Jn 11, 44), las misiones nos liberan de la tumba del pecado, fomentando el arrepentimiento y la piedad. Esta misión en particular profundiza la devoción eucarística para garantizar una recepción digna, fortaleciendo la vida familiar y los deberes sociales. Movidos por el Espíritu Santo, nos convertimos en testigos más fuertes de la verdad de Jesucristo al acudir a la fuente misma.

¡Apúntalo en tu agenda! Tardes misioneras a las 18:30 h, los días 22 y 23 de marzo, con posibilidad de confesarse. Trae a tu familia y amigos. Nadie está fuera del alcance de la llamada de Cristo: “¡Lázaro, sal de allí!” (Jn 11, 43). Que este sea tu momento de resurrección.
