Happy Sunday!

As you read this bulletin, my hope is that you are experiencing the crispness of autumn weather! Relief from the summer heat allows us to reflect on the constant motion of God in our lives and in our case hope for cooler weather. As I visit Denver this time of year I notice the changing leaves help invite us not to cling to what is fading but to prepare our hearts for what is eternal.

This week we pause for a brief moment as we remember the victims of September 11th with Patriot Day. As a nation we engage in personal prayer to renounce division, fear and anger. Through our remembrance and prayer, we stand firm in faith, hope and love anchored in Christ, the Prince of Peace.

As we enter a new month, may we be allowed to remind ourselves of our own need to let go of fear, selfishness or anything that keeps us from loving God first. May we be willing to bear the crosses given to us, knowing that Christ walks beside us always.

¡Feliz domingo!

Mientras leen este boletín, espero que estén disfrutando del fresco clima otoñal. El alivio del calor del verano nos permite reflexionar sobre el movimiento constante de Dios en nuestras vidas y, en nuestro caso, esperar un clima más fresco. Cuando visito Denver en esta época del año, noto que el cambio de color de las hojas nos invita a no aferrarnos a lo que se desvanece, sino a preparar nuestros corazones para lo que es eterno.

Esta semana hacemos una breve pausa para recordar a las víctimas del 11 de septiembre con el Día de los Patriotas. Como nación, nos comprometemos en la oración personal para renunciar a la división, el miedo y la ira. A través de nuestro recuerdo y nuestra oración, nos mantenemos firmes en la fe, la esperanza y el amor anclados en Cristo, el Príncipe de la Paz.

Al entrar en un nuevo mes, que se nos permita recordar nuestra propia necesidad de dejar atrás el miedo, el egoísmo o cualquier cosa que nos impida amar a Dios por encima de todo. Que estemos dispuestos a llevar las cruces que se nos han dado, sabiendo que Cristo camina siempre a nuestro lado.
