Christ is Risen!

“Sole Author of redeeming grace, exalted Savior of the world, O Christ, our King, grant us this day the glory of your fruitful Cross.” The Holy Saturday vespers hymn opening line captures what we anticipate in celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his death He destroyed and by his life He restored our life.

So many are drawn to our Risen Lord because the world and the father of lies offers nothing but disappointment. Christ’s holy act of love continues to transform hearts and lives from all walks of life. During the holy rites, our salvation history is proclaimed in a dramatic way that we have to respond and follow the Sacred Victim clothed in the splendor of light. We offer our prayers to the Father in our sacred space of worship and present them at the foot of the cross where we receive our joy and lasting victory. Permit the sacred liturgy to form your heart, mind, and soul for God this Easter season. Be attentive to the antiphons that use sacred scripture to prepare us for Mass, the readings that give us the ways our Blessed Lord walked in his glorious body, the church decorated that celebrates life and a future hope of Resurrection. The Easter season has just begun and it is time to ponder the Paschal Mystery for 50 days! Happy Easter!

¡Cristo ha resucitado!

“Único Autor de la gracia redentora, exaltado Salvador del mundo, oh Cristo, Rey nuestro, concédenos hoy la gloria de tu fecunda Cruz”. El verso inicial del himno de las vísperas del Sábado Santo captura lo que anticipamos al celebrar la Resurrección de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Con su muerte, destruyó y con su vida, restauró la nuestra.

Muchos se sienten atraídos a nuestro Señor Resucitado porque el mundo y el padre de la mentira solo ofrecen decepción. El santo acto de amor de Cristo continúa transformando corazones y vidas en todos los ámbitos de la vida. Durante los santos ritos, nuestra historia de salvación se proclama de manera dramática, de modo que debemos responder y seguir a la Sagrada Víctima, revestida del esplendor de la luz. Ofrecemos nuestras oraciones al Padre en nuestro sagrado espacio de culto y las presentamos al pie de la cruz, donde recibimos nuestra alegría y victoria eterna. Permitan que la sagrada liturgia forme su corazón, mente y alma para Dios en este tiempo de Pascua. Estén atentos a las antífonas que usan la Sagrada Escritura para prepararnos para la Misa, a las lecturas que nos muestran cómo nuestro Bendito Señor caminó en su cuerpo glorioso, a la iglesia decorada que celebra la vida y una futura esperanza de Resurrección. ¡El tiempo de Pascua acaba de comenzar y es hora de reflexionar sobre el Misterio Pascual durante 50 días! ¡Felices Pascuas!
