33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

Happy Sunday!

Next weekend we are excited to have our annual Eucharistic Procession on the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of the Universe. We will be adding a bilingual Mass at 2:30pm next Sunday in the main Church. The Mass will process out into the Procession.

As Mass finishes and the priests and deacons process out with the Blessed Sacrament, we invite everyone to join in the procession. Even if you are unable to attend the Mass, you are most welcome to meet the procession as it leaves the Church around 3:30pm. This has been a common option, especially for families who might be pulling wagons with small children or others who want to be in walking gear. The procession will be about one mile long and will finish back in the main Church with solemn benediction. After benediction, the Blessed Sacrament will return to the adoration chapel where perpetual adoration will resume. We hope you can join us for this wonderful event!

I would like to share with you an important piece of news that will affect our staff. Many of you know Jean Green who has helped coordinate weddings, funerals, liturgical details, flowers, pastoral care, and much more. Jean has decided to retire after 17 years working here at St. Joan of Arc. Her last day in the office will be this Tuesday November 15th. We are so grateful for Jean and everything she has brought to our St. Joan of Arc family. Many of you have worked with her planning joyous occasions such as weddings, and harder occasions such as funerals. Regardless of the situation, she made the process easier for all families. I would like to invite everyone to a gathering after all the Masses the weekend of December 3 and 4 to wish Jean well on her retirement. While she is retiring, she is not leaving. St. Joan of Arc is her home and she looks forward to continuing to be a presence in our parish. I am very grateful for her life, ministry, and faith. I hope you will be able to come by the Santa Maria Hall after Mass that weekend to join me in wishing her well.

Within the next week or two I hope to be able to give you a concrete update on the progress on our art project. Right now it looks like the new altar will be in Arizona this week and we will hopefully have it installed before the end of the month. I will let you know further details as we get closer. Thank you for your continued support of this wonderful project!

Know of my prayers for each of you and your families.

DE NUESTRO PASTOR

¡Feliz domingo!

Padre Connealy
