Gifts I am Grateful For

Happy Sunday!

Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes! I’m grateful to God for another year of life and to be here at St. Joan of Arc with all of you. The gift of the priesthood is another gift from God for which I am incredibly grateful. The Sacraments are the life of our parish and it is a great joy to be a minister of the Holy Eucharist. All of the Sacraments give us the grace to encounter the Risen Lord and experience the Divine Life here and now. I pray that this week each of us is able to spend time to reflect more intently on the Sacred Mysteries and God’s loving action in our lives.

This weekend we welcome back Fr. Vietor from his vacation. He is well rested and glad to be back. With his return, I am leaving on vacation for a couple of weeks. I’ll take a road trip and visit friends and family. Please keep me in your prayers for safe travels and a safe return. I plan to arrive back in Phoenix in time for Bishop Dolan’s installation as our new bishop. Please keep him, Bishop Olmsted, and our entire diocese in your prayers during this time of transition.

It’s been great having Deacon Gabriel Sabado and seminarian David Wilmowski serving at our parish this summer. If you have not had an opportunity to meet them please introduce yourself in the next couple of weeks. They will be with us through the end of July. They will be going on retreat and returning to their seminaries in August. Deacon Gabriel will be entering his last year of studies before being ordained a priest next June. David will be beginning his second year of formation at the Nazareth House here in Phoenix. We are grateful to God for them and the discernment of their vocations.

Know of my prayers for a good couple of weeks and we will see you again in August!

Christ’s peace,
Fr. Connealy

¡Feliz domingo!

Padre Connealy
