Easter and God’s Mercy

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Happy Easter to all of you and a special welcome to all of our visitors! I pray as you celebrate Easter Mass with us you may come to know the peace of God in your hearts now and always. You are always welcome to come and to thank God for His many blessings most especially His Son who has risen from the dead!

Now we have begun the season of Easter! Last evening, at the Easter Vigil, we welcomed our newest Catholics. They stepped forward to be baptized and to be received into full communion in the Catholic Church. They received the Sacrament of Confirmation and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. They received the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ for the first time! They formalized their commitment to Our Lord by "turning away from sin and being faithful to the Gospel" for the rest of their lives and hopefully for all eternity.

Everything we experience as Catholics at Easter proclaims to us the joy of our faith in the Risen Lord! Christ has conquered death on the cross by rising from the dead on this glorious day! Our personal deaths and those of our loved ones have been conquered, too, through our Baptismal commitment to Jesus.

May God's blessings overflow in your life this Easter! May your heart be filled with all the joys of the Risen Christ in our midst! May the fifty-day celebration of Easter deepen your relationship with Our Risen Lord!

I want to invite you to come next weekend to the great Divine Mercy devotion beginning at 2:00pm as we pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet with Our Lord present in the Blessed Sacrament. We will begin Mass at 3:00pm in the church. Please come and pray with us to close the octave of Easter!

La Pascua y Misericordia de Dios

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas,

¡Felices Pascuas a todos ustedes y especialmente bienvenidos a todos nuestros visitantes! Rezo por ustedes los que celebran Misa con nosotros, sentirán la paz de Dios en sus corazones ahora y siempre. ¡Ustedes siempre son bienvenidos para venir y dar gracias a Dios por sus muchas bendiciones y especialmente por su hijo que ha resucitado de la muerte!

¡Hoy comenzamos la temporada de Pascua! Anoche, en la Vigilia de Pascua, dimos la bienvenida a los nuevos católicos. Ellos han dado el paso para ser bautizados y para recibir la total comunión con la Iglesia Católica. Ellos reciben el Sacramento de Confirmación y el regalo del Espíritu Santo y a nuestro Señor "dando la espalda al pecado para tener fe en el evangelio" por el resto de tus vidas y ojala para toda la eternidad.

¡Todo lo que experimentamos como católicos durante la pascua nos proclama el gozo y la fe en el Señor Resucitado! ¡Cristo ha resucitado de la muerte en la cruz levantándose de entre los muertos en este glorioso día. Nuestra muerte personal y aquellos a quienes amamos también ha sido vencida a través de nuestro compromiso Bautismal en Jesús.

!Que Dios los colme de bendiciones su vida en esta Pascua! ¡Que su corazón se llene con el gozo de Cristo Resucitado! ¡Que el quinto día de celebración de la pascua se profundice en su relación con nuestro Señor resucitado!

Quiero invitarlos a que vengan la próxima semana a la devoción hacia la Divina Misericordia comenzando a las 2:00pm cuando oramos a la Divina Misericordia con nuestro Señor presente en el Santísimo Sacramento. Comenzaremos la Misa de las 3:00pm en la iglesia. ¡Por favor vengan a orar con nosotros para cerrar el dia octavo de Pascua!
