Farewell to Deb Jones

08-02-2015Pastor's LetterFr. Don Kline

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I want to take this opportunity to address some staff changes happening at St. Joan of Arc. After several years of joyful service to our parish, Deb Jones will be leaving St. Joan of Arc to be with her family in Florida. Deb has been a wonderful blessing to our community in so many ways; i.e., as our resident accountant and CPA, gift shop manager, fish fry organizer, volunteer coordinator, stewardship coordinator, and so much more, Deb has played a major role in leading our parish in many incredible ways.

There are many things that we will miss about Deb. She was there when you needed someone to talk with. She enjoys helping others. Her deep love for this parish and the people she served was obvious. Deb was often the first person in the office and there were many days that she worked late into the evening. She never complained about the long hours. She definitely was an intentional disciple who desired to put other’s needs before her own. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and worked with her.

I can say from personal experience, her laughter and joy around the office has been a great blessing to all on a daily basis. We will miss her. Please make an effort to let her know how much you appreciate her service and dedication to our parish community. Let us keep her in our prayers as she begins this new chapter in her life.

Listen to the words of the book of Tobit: 5:17-18 [Tobit] called his son and said to him: "My son, prepare whatever you need for the journey, and set out with your kinsman. May God in heaven protect you on the way and bring you back to me safe and sound; and may his angel accompany you for safety, my son."

Please offer this prayer for Deb and her family during this time of travel and transition.

All-powerful and ever-living God,
when Abraham left his own land
and departed from his own people,
you kept him safe all through his journey.
Protect your servants:
walk by their side to help them;
be their companion and their strength
on the road and their refuge in every adversity.
Lead them, O Lord, so that they will reach their destination in safety
and happily return to their home.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

God Bless,
Fr. Don Kline

Despedida a Deb Jones

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas:

Todopoderoso y Siempre vivo Dios.
Cuando Abraham dejo sus tierras
y dejo a su propia gente
lo guardaste durante su viaje
Protege a tus siervos:

Padre Don Kline
