Dear Brothers and Sisters,
There is a very popular video that just came out on YouTube called "the world's toughest" job, which is really the world's most important job. The video shows various interviews for the position. The applicant only knows that they were applying for a position entitled "Director of Operations". During the interview, potential candidates are told about the responsibilities and requirements of the position.
The job requires that the person be able to work standing up most or all of the time – constantly on your feet, constantly bending over, constantly exerting yourself, and a high level of stamina. The work hours were explained as 24 hours a day, 7 days a week or unlimited number of hours of work per week with no breaks available. This position would be 365 days a year with very little time to sleep. You would eat only after your associate was done eating. The position requires excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills with a degree in medicine, finance, and the culinary arts. You must be able to wear several hats and the associate needs constant attention. Sometimes you would have to stay up with the associate throughout the night. You would need to work in a chaotic environment and if you had a life you would have to give that life up. There are no vacations, if fact, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and others holidays meant the workload would increase and you would need to have a happy disposition. However, the people connections that you make and the feelings you get from helping your associate are immeasurable. The salary would be $0.00, completely pro bono. The video concludes by letting the person being interviewed (who is completely confused at this point) in on the fact that billions of people currently hold this position as "Director of Operations".
So on this day we thank all "Directors of Operations" aka moms. Your job description is only partially expressed here. God knows your countless sacrifices and giving heart. Today, we give thanks to God for the gift of our mothers. We give thanks to our mothers for their love, their support, and for being mothers! And we also pray for those who are not biological or adoptive mothers for a variety of reasons--infertility, not being married, consecrated religious (sisters and nuns) and so on but who express their generatively every day by mentoring, teaching and guiding children. I, for one, remember the important contributions of all of you and hold you in prayer today. For it is a beautiful day when we take notice of your many contributions.

A Prayer for Mothers
Heavenly Father, we worship You, Our Creator! You have revealed Your tender love for us through the love of our mothers. Bless our mothers and reward them for their sacrificial love. Grant consolation and strength to mothers who are exhausted, those struggling to hold their families together and those in difficult marriages. Bless our mothers, Lord, and grant eternal rest to those who have died. Let men and women who never knew a mother's love come to know that of Mary, Your Mother. Amen.
Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo,
Hay un video muy popular que acaba de salir en YouTube llamado "el trabajo más difícil del mundo", el cual es el trabajo más importante del mundo. El video muestra varias entrevistas para la posición. El solicitante solamente sabe que están aplicando para una posición llamada "Director de Operaciones". Durante las entrevistas, se les informa a los candidatos potenciales acerca de las responsabilidades y requisitos de la posición.
El trabajo requiere que la persona puede trabajar parada la mayoría del tiempo—debe de estar constantemente parada, constantemente agachándose, ejercitándose contantemente, también la persona debe de tener un nivel alto de resistencia. Las horas de trabajo fueron explicadas como 24 horas al día, 7 días a la semana, o un número ilimitado de horas de trabajo por semana sin ningún descanso disponible. Esta posición seria 365 días al año con muy poco tiempo para dormir. Usted podría comer solo después que socio haya comido. No hay vacaciones, de hecho, el día de Acción de Gracias, la Navidad, la Pascua, y otros días festivos serán los más ocupados y tendrá que tener la mejor disposición de alegría. Solo Dios sabe sus innumerables sacrificios y generosidad de corazón. Ahora, le damos gracias a Dios por el regalo de las madres. Le damos las gracias a nuestras madres por su amor, apoyo, y por ser nuestras madres. También, oramos por las mujeres que no son madres biológicas o adoptivas por varias razones—infertilidad, por no estar casadas, o porque pertenecen a la vida consagrada (monjas), pero que expresan su generosidad y amor enseñando y guiando a los niños de otras maneras. Yo en lo particular, recuerdo las contribuciones importantes de todas, y oro por ustedes en este día. Ya que es un día hermoso, en donde las honramos por sus sacrificios y contribuciones.

Una oración para las Madres
¡Padre Celestial, te adoramos como Nuestro Creador! Tú nos has revelado tu tierno amor por medio del amor de nuestras madres. Bendice a nuestras madres y recompénsalas por su amor sacrificial. Concédeles el consuelo y fuerza a las madres que están exhaustas, a las madres que están luchando para mantener a sus familias unidas, y a las que están en matrimonios difíciles. Bendice a nuestras madres y concédeles el eterno descanso a las madres que han fallecido. Permite a los hombres y mujeres que nunca han experimentado el amor de una madre, que conozcan el amor de María, tu Madre. Amen
