Rite of Christian Initiation for Children
—RCIC (ages 7-17)

RCIA Coordinator: Mr. Michael Garibaldi

Michael Garibaldi
Director Evangelization and Catechisis

(602) 867-9171 ext. 311

The RCIC process adopts an initiation model to prepare children of catechetical age to be initiated into the Catholic Church. The process involves the entire family and culminates with the celebration of the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil.

If you are interested in having your children receive their Sacraments of Initiation, please contact Michael Garibaldi in the parish office for an interview and registration packet. He can be reached at 602-867-9171.

Classes will be held each Thursday, beginning September 1, 2011.

The Process
Similar to the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, the RCIC model mirror the catechumenate process in that it will consist of five important stages.

The Inquiry 1.

  • The Catechumenate—Teaching of the Catholic Faith
  • 2. Prayer
  • 3. The Easter Vigil
  • 4. Post-Easter Sessions-Mystagogia

*Please see the RCIA page for a more detailed explanation of each of these stages.
